Project Description
Cesar Pelli Skyscraper, Milano
The Spire is a 85 m lattice structure, placed on the top of the skyscraper at 145 m height, to reach 230 m. The structure is covered with panels made of microperforated metal sheet in stainless steel. It is fully illuminated and heated to prevent ice formations, which could be dangerous if falls down and could also compromise the stability and security of the structure. The Spire has been realized in collaboration with CDC S.r.l. of Lecco, that has provided the shop drawings, while the production has been supplied by Famar s.r.l. and the assembly in site (with the use of the helicopter) has been performed by Seval s.r.l..
